  1. Drain and mash the black-eyed peas. In a heavy sauce pan, melt butter and add garlic and onions. Saute for 10-15 minutes. Stir in cheese spread, black-eyed peas and green chili. Stir until blended. Heat throughout. Serve with crackers or corn chips.
