2020 Summer Cereal Drive a success

When it came to the 2020 THV11/Arkansas Foodbank Summer Cereal Drive, the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas definitely did not flake out!

In fact, despite COVID-19, which kept many workers at home and caused the cancellation of some group fundraising events, the cooperatives had a record-breaking year.

With a goal of raising 15,000 boxes — the equivalent of $15,000 — the cooperatives raised an amazing 27,191 boxes — the equivalent of $27,191. That’s 3,888 more than donated in 2019.

This year, employees of Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives Inc. (AECI) and the state’s electric distribution cooperatives participated in a number of ways, including payroll deduction, T-shirt sales, a silent auction and a TikTok video competition.

The cooperatives have raised a grand total of 135,499 boxes — or $135,499 — since 2012 for the Arkansas Foodbank network in their fight to end hunger.
