The City of Ward will be hosting the 17th Annual Fishing Derby that will begin at 8 a.m. on May 18, 2019 at Busby Lake in Ward for all children ages 1 to15. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will stock the pond on or about May 17, 2019 and the pond will be closed after being stocked until the Fishing Derby begins.
Free door prizes for each child will be given and a trophy will be awarded to the overall Derby Winner. Last year there were over 50 fish caught and the biggest fish was over 3 pounds.
We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a morning of fun and excitement with your community and maybe even bring home some dinner and a trophy. Admission is FREE!
A Call to Sponsors: We are requesting donations to help underwrite the cost of this event. Your business or name will be listed on advertising and a prominently displayed banner for the people in attendance.
