The Arkansas Glasshoppers, Inc. will host their 32nd Annual Depression Era & Vintage Glass Show and Sale at the Hall of Industry, State Fairgrounds, Roosevelt & Howard Streets, Little Rock, Arkansas.  Show dates are Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, February 25, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission of $5 is good for both days.  Parking is free.

Twenty-four outstanding dealers from 14 states will display over 175 tables of sparkling glassware, pottery, and kitchen items of the era, elegant glassware, and pottery. The private glass collection displays will include a huge Franciscan Desert Rose collection, a “Smoking and Bar Accessory” table, and several patterns of beautiful Depression Era glass from personal collections.  James Hayes, the internationally-acclaimed glass artist who is a member of the Arkansas Glasshoppers Club, will create one of the special glass displays with his wonderful blown glass, with a Mardi Gras theme.

This year for our 32nd Show, we are having interactive presentations throughout both days. Club member Laura Lavender will show you how to create unique and memorable table settings using her wonderful personal collections of Depression Era glass.  Her Table Settings presentations will be held every few hours on Saturday and on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.   Identification Marks by club member, Daniel Ulz, will show you how to find and interpret identification marks on glass to help you learn what kind of glass you have or want to collect.  Daniel’s presentations will be several times on Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Door prizes will be given on the hour and there will be a reference table for glass identification.  Visitors may bring in up to three items for identification or evaluation.

The public is invited to come and spend the day shopping at leisure.  The building is handicapped accessible and a snack bar is available.
