Ingredients
- 1 16 oz can pitted cherries in light syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 2 teaspoons red food coloring
- 1 9 in prepared / purchased pie crust pie crus
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese room temperature
- 1 3 oz cream cheese room temperature
- 4 eggs room temperature, beaten
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sour cream

Instructions
- Preheated oven 425. In saucepan, put sugar mixed with flour, add juice of cherries and stir. Then add cherries and red food coloring. Cook over medium heat until bubbly and slightly thickened. Stir in flavoring at this time. Set aside to cool.
- Prepare pie plate with crust
- In mixing bowl, mix together cream cheese and sugar. Add beaten eggs, salt and vanilla. Mix well
- Put cherry filling into the bottom of the pie shell(saving 1 cup for topping). Gently pour the cheese mixture over the top of the filling and spread evenly.
- Place in the preheated oven for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 325 and bake for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. At least an hour.
- Spread sour cream around the outside edge of pie leaving about a 4 inch circle in center. Place remaining cherries in center of the circle.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
