Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas employees traded office work for tool belts during a Habitat for Humanity volunteer project, June 25-26 in North Little Rock.
For many volunteers, the two-day effort offered a chance to learn new skills, use power tools and work alongside coworkers in a setting far different from their daily routines.
Doris Whitt, compensation analyst and volunteer organizer, said the project reflected the cooperative commitment to serving others.
“It was inspiring to see our employees step in with such willingness and enthusiasm,” Whitt said. “They were not only helping to build a house, they were helping to build hope for a family in our community.”
