Sen. Missy Thomas Irvin of Mountain View was presented with the Friend of the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas Award at the annual Winter Directors’ Conference in Little Rock on Dec. 4.

In presenting the award, CEO/President Vernon “Buddy” Hasten described Irvin as “a standout individual and highly influential senator.”

Hasten continued, “She has been a long-time supporter and friend of the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas, and she has been vital in getting legislation passed to address electric reliability issues and increasing access to broadband for rural Arkansans. For her longtime support and friendship to the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas, we are honored to present Senator Irvin with the Friend of the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas Award.
