Ingredients
Nonstick cooking spray
1 (15.25-ounce) box devil’s food cake mix
1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 teaspoon almond extract
Icing:
1 cup sugar
5 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Heat oven to 350. Spray a 13×9 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray, and set aside.
For cake: In a large bowl, stir together cake mix, pie filling, eggs, oil and almond extract. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until cake tests done. Cool for 10 minutes.
For icing: Combine sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Spread over warm cake.
