Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 chicken thighs, bone-in
- 3 chicken drumsticks
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
Directions
- Heat oven to 400.
- In a large bowl, beat egg with buttermilk. Add chicken pieces to mixture, and refrigerate for 1 to 4 hours.
- In a shallow dish combine, flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, thyme and sage. Remove chicken from buttermilk, giving pieces a shake before dredging in flour mixture to coat.
- Add oil to rimmed metal baking pan, and place in oven. When oil is hot, add chicken, basting pieces with oil.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees. Chicken pieces can be turned at the halfway point, if desired.
