Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 6 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 7 tablespoons butter

Directions

Heat oven to 375. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Beat in egg, vanilla extract and ½ cup sugar. Spread cream cheese mixture on bottom of cast-iron skillet.

In a large bowl, toss together remaining ½ cup sugar and cornstarch until combined. Toss in blackberries, and stir to coat. Pour berries on cream cheese mixture.

In the same large bowl, stir together oats, cinnamon and brown sugar. Incorporate butter into mixture, slicing it into small pieces or using a pastry cutter. Evenly distribute oat mixture on blackberries. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm.
